Well, what a night. Extraordinary. First of all, many, many thanks to our storytellers: Paul, Margaret, Paul, Lesley, Seán, Sarah, Susan, Keira. Bloody brilliant. Tonight was a night of humanity. How amazing that so many people wish to tell a true story of their lives. We are always moved by the goodness of hosting your stories. Thanks to all.
Well. Bloody hell. What a night. Thanks to everyone who came. The theme was Show and Tell. And they showed and told.
Somewhere at home you have an old scarf that you'll never throw out because somebody special gave it to you. Or you've got that stone you picked up on top of a mountain at the end of a day, or you've got that ingrown toenail mounted in velvet or you've got a cup made for you by your favourite neighbour. This Wednesday at 7.30pm is your chance to share that story.
So, the theme was put out and the people came. Last night at our Fear night we heard such extraordinary stories. It was an emotional roller coaster. It never ceases to amaze us how folks come to tell stories, to a roomful of strangers, and tell truths that are so often under the surface. Many many thanks to Paul, Naomhán, Seán, Áine, Emily, Lisa,Jason, Clare and Nuala. What a night.
So, this time last night we were just finishing up our Tenx9 evening on the theme of "Scundered"
Scundered, for those of you who don't know, is a fine Belfast word that mostly means "embarrassed". We have a huge debt of thanks for Orlaith Hendron who suggested the theme. Orlaith runs events on the theme of Scundered where brave brave people read from their teenage diaries in public. We'll let you know when the next of these events happens.
Orlaith came to us with a suggestion for the theme of 'scundered' and we were captured by it immediately.
