Warm stories of the cold -- tonight's Tenx9 and theme for next month.

Well, what an amazing night. Many thanks to the audience and the storytellers - Cath, Eric, Paul, Helen, Janni, Susan and Gerard.

We heard stories of freezing your ass off in the healing waters of a pilgrimage site; the unexpected fruitfulness of a freezing cold hike in the highlands of Scotland; blood running cold in an accident; non-cold, lukewarm bitter milk with grass that turned out to be the dip, not a drink; frozen ground in a Scottish graveyard that was unyielding to the ritual of burying the ashes of your dear dad; bitterly cold Irish childhoods leading to an adventurous spirit scaling icy mountaintops; reflections on how many things happened in the cold of winter through a rich lifetime; and that old biscuit, the immersion.

We love running Tenx9 and love it that so many people come and share stories, listen to stories, tell us of their lives and make Tenx9 the cosiest night of stories in Belfast. Thanks to all.

Next time is December 16th, 7.30pm in the Black Box. The theme is Hard Times. Sleeping on hard floors, difficult experiences, Christmas childhoods, catastrophes that turned into opportunities, opportunities that turned into catastrophes - 9 people with up to ten minutes each to tell a true story from their lives. If you have a story, have a read of the guidelines and get in touch.

Newer:Hard Times and Happy ChristmasOlder:Courageous stories last Wednesday - thanks to all, and next theme.
