We’re delighted to have our first ever Tenx9 in Armagh on June 6th at 7.30pm in the Marketplace Theatre. The theme is ‘City Life’. It’s free, and unticketed, so just turn up. Folks will be invited to give a donation (the price of a pint) to support the event.
Moving to the city, leaving the city, your first experience in the city, your final experience in the city, an event that could only happen in this one particular city.
Tenx9 is an evening where nine people tell true stories from their own life. Each story is no longer than ten minutes. Tenx9 is looking for storytellers to submit a story on the theme of ‘City Life’. You can read your story, or tell your story, but every story needs to be submitted. While the event is in Armagh City, not every story needs to be about Armagh, so if you have a story about Dublin or Edinburgh or Ouagadougou, feel free to submit that to us too. But we are keen to have plenty of Armagh stories also.
If you have an idea for a story and think that you’d love to tell it, but would need support, we are delighted. Send us your ideas. We tend to prefer a story that narrates one event, rather than reminiscing stories that provide broad reflections.
Anyone who wishes to send a story (or part of their story), here’s what to do:
Firstly read the editorial guidelines. This will tell you about how long your submission should be, how to keep it focused on story (we don’t accept reflections, essays, meditations or pastiches on the theme).
We’ll be delighted to hear from you! and we look forward to seeing you in Armagh soon.
